Our story

The idea for The Alcove was born several years ago in a small town in BC, but due to a variety of factors (one clue - 2020), the timing wasn’t quite right. I’m a dreamer and a doer, so many other journeys down many other paths came and went, but through it all, The Alcove kept calling my name. Fast forward through a cross provincial return to the place I was raised, landing on the dreamiest home I could have ever imagined, and finally, a full unexpected basement renovation due to a flood, and my vision is finally becoming a reality.

I say the idea only began a short time ago, but in reality, I’ve been doing this my whole life - hosting, playing friend matchmaker, making unwilling participants craft with me. Whatever you’d like to call it, it all stems from a deep desire to foster connection.

My hope for The Alcove is to be a space where we all find a place, where we meet new friends, where we laugh and leave feeling cups full. If there’s one thing the last couple years have taught us, it’s that we were built for community. I hope you find that here.
